So you want to work in Japan? (Please read this page first)

So you want to work in Japan? Ok great! Well…here is the lowdown.

Working in Japan whether it be for a foreign company in Japan or a  Japanese company can be a challenge if you don’t know what to do and where to start.

This blog will focus mostly on students who want to work in Japan and the entire process. This process I talk about is very confusing as there are a lot of steps you must do in order to secure that interview and get your foot in the door. Of course, for those in Japan, your university can support you, but for those overseas you don’t have this luxury.

I will focus on the following things:

1) Japanese skill (Do I really need to speak perfect Japanese?)

2) Age/Education (Does getting your Masters or PhD really matter?)

3) Time period (When to start looking for work) and 4) What web sites to use

5) Company seminar/job fairs and what to expect

6) Aptitude Test (yes you will get tested over and over again depending on the company)

7) Entry Sheet (A mix of a resume and cover letter)

8) Interview (What to expect and process)

9) Job Offer

10) 1st day working in a Japanese company

11) Training

 And more to come….
